Haitian Disaster Relief
Pray/Give - Disaster Relief Efforts Continue in Haiti
|
Your prayers are urgently needed for the people of Haiti: Haitian Baptist pastors and churches serving their neighbors, governmental leaders striving to bring order to their shattered land, and Southern Baptist volunteers ministering under difficult circumstances.
A website has been set up to guide your prayers using virtual prayerwalks around Haiti. Go to www.namb.net/pray4haiti and select a pin to view the specific prayer needs and information for each location. In the days ahead, new prayerwalks will be added to help you pray for strategic locations such as food and water distribution, Haitian Baptist Churches, housing locations for volunteers and other needs.
Urgent Need: Translators
One pressing need is for translators to assist in the process related to legal documentation such as TPS (Temporary Protective Status). The Haitian churches in Miami are hosting clinics for TPS applications and there is a great need of translators from English into French-Creole, assisting people with processing their legal paperwork. If you can assist with translation, please contact Marc Johnston, Florida Baptist Convention, by calling 904-571-8037 or by email at mjohnston@flbaptist.org.
To donate,Click on one of the links below and you will be taken to a web-site that you can donate directly through:
Baptist Global Response (our international response agency) - www.gobgr.com
These organizations have means to donate directly to the Haitian cause. 100% of all moneys donated will go to those in need on the Island. I would encourage you to give directly to these organizations as all donations to Colorado Baptists specifically earmarked for Haiti will go through BGR.
