PERSONAL VISION FOR THE CHURCH

My vision for the church that I serve is that the church will be both a Great Commandment and a Great Commission church. The Great Commandment (Mark 12:28-33) says that we are to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and to love our neighbor as ourselves. The Great Commission (Mt. 28:19-20) says that we are to make disciples, baptize them, and teach them. I believe that everything a church does should be centered on the Great Commandment and the Great Commission which covers the 5 functions of a local church. To love God with all our heart is worship. To love our neighbor as ourselves is ministry and fellowship. To go and make disciples is evangelism. To teach them all things is discipleship.
